Inactive accounts are retained by the server for two months.

To solve the Vista vs Freelancer problem several solutions have been presented. A more in depth search of the forum will reveal more, but the most recent solution presented is here:

If you can't figure out the problem here is a little guide i wrote to disable anoying stuff on vista witch helped me get freelancer to work:

On vista theres a few things you have to do to make nearly everything work just fine like in xp, first disable windows defender, secondly disable user account mangement, disable windows firewall and disable ipv6.

How to:

Disable windows defender:
> start
> control pannel
> windows defender > disable

then

> start
> type msconfig and hit enter
> services and look for windows defender and disable
> then start up and look for windows defender ones again and disable

congratulations, you have disabled windows defender

Disable user account management:
> start
> control pannel
> user accounts
> user account management enable or disable
> disable

congratulations, you have disabled user account management

Disable windows firewall:
> start
> control pannel
> windows firewall > disable

then

> start
> type msconfig and hit enter
> services and look for windows firewall and disable

congratulations u have disabled windows firewall

Disable IPv6:
This one is a little trickyer but i will try to explain.

> start
> control pannel
> network centre
> click manage network connections
> right click on your internet connection
> properties
> clear the checkbox on internet protocol version 6
> click ok

then

> start
> regedit
> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
> SYSTEM
> CurrentControlSet
> Services
> tcpip6
> Parameters
> right click Parameters
> New DWORD type
> name it DisabledComponents and make sure u name it exactly that including capitals
> double click DisabledComponents
> type FF and hit ok

Congratulations u have disabled IPv6

now restart the computer to make the changes have effect

if u cnt figure it out how to disable IPv6 with this little guis then here is the link to a more complete tutorial

Mate, you are my absolute hero :o

It works :D. I have my laptop now for over a year and it never worked, now it does :D

My guess is that the last instruction did the trick, as I never tried to disable IP6 directly via the regedit. I restarted the Windows Defender afterwards, still runs fine...

THANKS A LOT!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
