Scenario - Players who play pirates have problems with the F1 out key when taxing other players.
Goal - To stop the F1 out option for people being taxed and to add some more interaction.
Suggestion - As per my other post and Eagles input...
1. Command
/tax [player name or player number] [amount in credits]
This makes it quick to type and covers non standard chars in player names.
2. Notification
IMO the notification should be shown in system channel (to increase game play with other players in the system)
Suggested text to be displayed in system channel:
[Pirate Name] is demanding [credits] from [trader name] by way of Piracy.(/paytax to accept)
I have kept it short and brief, however, I guess others might come up with a better announcement. I think its important to make it semi-RP.
3. Trader response
I think, if possible if he can just type /paytax, it would be better, than having to type the name etc in. Or like B'ship docking, the code pops up with what he needs to type.
The same if he wants to refuse - /notax
Other considerations.
We limit the amount a pirate can tax in terms of credits so that they take goods in addition to the credits. This helps game play and means pirates are less lazy. i'm not sure how we can incorporate this, however, I wouldnt like to return to credit taxing only for pirates.
Players should at worst have to be in the same sys, Ideally it should only work in range of /local channel. this stops muppets from typing stuff in before they have even seen the player. Maybe if there can be a short cut key (like B'ship docking) would be great - click on player and then type /tax
The tax process cant be automated in the event of no response, in case a player is afk when taxed. His account could be emptied.
In the event that a player taxes more than the player holds in credits, it should max deduct at zero credits.
There should be an amount that can be set (at server level) which would be the max amount a pirate can tax a player on each individual occasion.
Hope this covers some things, additional input welcomed.
