Hi there i have yet to be able to get the E/U mod to work with vista have run the install with admin rights and then also ran the mod in compatibility mode too the most i have got to run it the black dos promt screen to come up but even then it still reports a error with the flpatcher in the mod manager EU_DM mod i will continue the work on this problem as i,m sure there is a fix but i struggle with work and R/W commitments but to summaries try this
1. install freelancer mod manager with admin rights to start with 2. then navigate the the mod folders in program files. 3. run all the exe's in compatibility mode WIN XP with sp2 if there is a option to give them admin rights try that first.
really dint know if this will work but it may point us in the right direction, if it fails if you could post the errors here this may give a clue to were to look to get it to work.
not sure if there is a fix for Vista i have seen some query's posted but i cant remember seeing any definitive fix's posted.
any way good luck with vista

The mod works fine,it`s vista that is the problem.I would be very surprised if microsoft did release a patch to make the game compatible.

ok quick update 1. have managed to install the manager and the mod 2. activated the mod fine after setting every thing to compatibility mode 3. loaded the game and input my freelancer id ok
can select either LAN or Internet they both show the server in fact Internet lists all the servers but when i try to connect i get the immediate message about the server being offline etc. i suspect this maybe something to do with the new protocols M/S as released i will see if it connects when i remove TCP/IP v6 but have run out of time right now.
would be useful to get some guidance from Eagle on this hopefully i,ll bump into him on line and see what he says

TCP/IP 6 is indeed incompatible with freelancer, removing that should do the trick.

hmmm i will check if its the tcp/ip6 that's making all the problem, last time i knew it was using IP5 ... anyways if that doesn't work people will have to revert to virtual machine's

Any more progress on finding solutions to this problem from any of you? Yea remove the ipv6 from vista entirely since that's nearly impossible i would say Freelancer will find its grave in Windows Vista

Maybe we should start another petition? One that proposes a compatibility fix for Vista, or a patch for FL to make it compatible with ipv6.

thats no option bobble head, yes i still have pc's with other windows os's on it , but the majority of the customers who buy new pc's aint gonna buy Windows XP if they can get Vista for the same price (even cheaper) Microsoft will do whatever they can to force us to use vista (directX10 for example) .
So maybe in the future Freelancer needs to be emulated like the old dos games

Any luck in running it in XP compatability mode? Hello, some games run in XP compatiabilty mode, but not all. I suggest a dual boot system, I have both OS running at my PC, Vista (Ultimate 64 Bit) and XP, but Vista is not an option at the moment. It looks and feels nice, but XP is the better one for the next monthes.
