...a small bug in dm is that on my newly made characters witch have zoners fully green i cnt go hostile to the base w/e i do. ...Yes, nos and I saw that bug today, thanks for telling us Not a bug, is a feature... you can't go hostile to the faction you're flying as regardless, note that clanners fly with a clan faction so they can get hostile to the faction that clan is based on. Just use the minefield next to the Gamma jump hole

Okay with the thing so that you can't go hostile with your own faction what if you set role to Dragon or outcast surly you could just follow the bosses and blow them up and sell the cloaks for profit or just give them to all your characters and they wouldn't retaliate.

3rd option would mean that you can still fly around with freelancers, so it would be optional to choose a faction. At least that's what I make out of it

Eagle please correct me if I am wrong: Option # 1: ALL players, including those completely new to EU will start as a faction member. That faction will have at least one fixed enemy. The /startas command will be available for changing that default faction to some other ... ONE TIME ONLY. (A new character that has a clan tag will start as that clan's faction and not have the /startas command available.) Option # 2: Has been essentially eliminated by the vote. It would have left the role play scheme basically unchanged. New players would start either as a freelancer or a Zoner with a few enemies. All of those enemies could be "fixed" to develop a neutral character. Option # 3: A new player will start as a Zoner or a Freelancer with the possibility of becoming fully neutral. Using /startas would start that character as a brand new player and as a member of the selected faction. Starting a new clan tagged character would start that character with the appropriate clan faction. In Option 1 and 3, using the /startas command will result in all credits, ship, guns, equipment, etc being lost with the current ship being replaced by a basic faction appropriate ship . If I understand correctly, these are the options we are considering. I hope this has been of some help.

I have a proposition regarding all this changes : Since we wonna avoid ( at least i hope so ) to have on 1 side peeps with lots of enemies and on the other side completely neutral chars , what about possibility to make for zoners things lil complicated ? Not to change their original game rep , but to for example in trade make buying prices higher / selling prices lower ; ship , guns , ammo more expensive etc ... Also , is there a possibility for "pirate" chars to allow them to trade in none TL systems ? For example , for BD Kusari isnt a possible trading center anymore . So now , we have 1 destination less , and there were not so many "profitable" routes ... and not to mention no trade bonus anymore , few trading-worth goods ( in profit way worth of course ) and dynamic economy on our beck ... Others have , I suppose , similar problems ... Maybe the solution can be ( as I suggested before ) lifting the prices of all goods , make them all profitable and with dynamic economy , opening maybe none TL system for pirates .. It could make fair balance Is this possible to make in game - like changing prices of items for different faction ? Whats your opinion about this ?

Option # 1: ALL players, including those completely new to EU will start as a faction member. That faction will have at least one fixed enemy. The /startas command will be available for changing that default faction to some other ... ONE TIME ONLY. (A new character that has a clan tag will start as that clan's faction and not have the /startas command available.)StartAs can be used multiple times on a single character, however... each time it will result in loss of ship and credits. Clan characters, dispite being assigned their clan faction automatically, can still use and benefit from the /StartAs command because it will start them at the appropriate base with matching ship and equipment for the faction specified in the command. This as opposed to the current alternative of starting out on planet Manhattan, hostile to pirate factions which would be rather difficult for some clanners. Option one has been voted for most so that means we'll be working on a way to give everyone a faction affiliation other than Zoner, how is of yet unknown and will be investigated. This will avoid the situation Sonya mentioned of having on one side partially hostile characters and on the other fully neutral ones. Ofcourse we'll also start of new players as something other than Zoners on creation of a new character. New character creation will likely be made such that it will rotate factions. That means depending on when a character is created you'd start as faction X or Y or something else entirely, ofcourse the StartAs command can then be used to change it to a desired faction but the idea here is to create diversity. Other issues have been raised such as trading difficulties, at present all of these issues can be overcome with the help of a few neutral characters though so we won't be making changes to the new RP system to compensate. What we can do however, as suggested, is raise some of the prizes of certain commodities as well as allow large ships to moor at more bases then currently possible. All these suggestions however aren't related to this topic so I suggest someone starts a new topic to raise these issues and gather options to come to a solution
